Dining

Deer Lodge is home to one of the most noted dining rooms in the Canadian Rockies. We invite you to sample our Rocky Mountain Cuisine – a style influenced by hearty meals made by European mountain guides artfully presented and professionally served. Rocky Mountain Cuisine is best as an artful assemblage of Canadian ingredients such as bison and elk raised on CRM Ranch, sustainable seafood, prairie-grown grains and locally sourced vegetables. We have an extensive wine list featuring award-winning Canadian wines from central B.C. and Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula – including a generous selection of hard to find Vintners’ reserve wines. Deer Lodge has proudly received Gold at the Vancouver International Wine Awards.

Recreation

Majestic and alluring, the wilderness surrounding our lodges remains largely unspoiled. Tumbling creeks, stunning and bracing mountains, and clean air make it a paradise for hikers and back country skiers alike. Here are just a few of our favorite destinations and activities.
Explore the Canadian Rockies in every season! Conditions for winter activities in the Rocky Mountains are typically best between the first of December and the middle of April. Conditions for summer activities are usually best between the beginning of June and End of September. All seasons, however, offer opportunities to explore and enjoy the mountain parks of the Canadian Rockies.

Spring Activities

Spring in the Rockies comes later than in most places, meaning there is still plenty of time to ski, snowshoe or cross country ski until April or May. The ski hills have a great snow base and soft powdery snow continues to coat the runs. With less of a nip in the air and longer days, Spring is the perfect time to try and visit the Canadian Rockies.

Winter Activities

Late each fall, our lodges settle in for the winter. They nestle under a thick blanket of snow. Inside, our guests are warm and cozy beside a crackling fireplace. The calmness and serenity of our mountain surroundings grow with each snowfall; the natural beauty of the parks is redefined during this quiet, peaceful season. Heartbeats quicken and faces glow with the exhilaration of myriad outdoor pursuits: skiing – both downhill and cross-country, skating, dog sledding, ice climbing, and hot-tubbing.
This is a season worth celebrating and we invite you to savour it.

Summer Activities

Summer in the Canadian Rockies offers countless opportunities to explore mountain trails and lakes. Stunning mountain vistas are the perfect backdrop for your next outdoor adventure.
